Discover a Natural Waterpark Deep in El Yunque

A rainforest that slides, swings, and splashes back.

In El Yunque, the rain doesn’t just fall, it sings.
And somewhere between the songs of the coquí and the rush of waterfalls, there’s a secret spot the locals call nature’s waterpark.

It’s not built with pipes or slides. It’s carved by time: volcanic rock turned playground, rivers turned into natural pools, vines turned into swings. If you listen close, you’ll hear the island laughing with you.

Meet us in the jungle, where Puerto Rico shows off.

What You’ll Experience

…and the rest of the story.

1️⃣ The Road to the Rainforest

Your day starts bright and early — Puerto Rican style. We’ll pick you up (or you can meet us there), grab a quick coffee and empanada at a local spot, and drive through the green folds of the Sierra Luquillo mountains.

The windows go down, the music goes up, and that humid rainforest air starts to wrap around you.

2️⃣ The Hike Into Magic

We’ll start with a 2.5-mile hike through El Yunque — the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System. Your guide will tell stories of its ancient name, Yukiyu, and the Taíno people who believed the god of rain lived here.

You’ll spot wild ginger, hear parrots overhead, and maybe see where the clouds touch the ground.

3️⃣ Nature’s Waterpark Time

Now the fun part.
A natural rock slide smoother than anything you’ll find at a resort.
Cliff jumps of different heights (go big or cheer from the sidelines).
A rope swing that drops you straight into a pool so clear you can see the river stones smiling back.

No filters. No crowds. Just you, the water, and a guide capturing the photos you’ll brag about later.

4️⃣ Fruit, Fotos & Feels

When your body’s tired and your soul’s grinning, we’ll break out fresh-cut fruit — straight from the island — before rinsing off your shoes, changing, and heading back home.

Don’t be surprised if you fall asleep on the drive — it’s the good kind of tired.

Why Tranki Tours?

Because we do it a lo tranki; calm, intentional, and full of heart.

We don’t run tours just to check a box.
We take you to the places we grew up exploring — the hidden slides, the secret swimming holes, the quiet corners where you can hear the rainforest breathing.

Puerto Rico isn’t something to rush through.
It’s something to feel in your chest, in your laughter, in that moment when the water takes your breath in the best way.

Our guides are locals who:

  • Know the safest path because they’ve hiked it a hundred times

  • Tell the stories behind the land, not just the directions

  • Celebrate your first cliff jump like family

We believe adventure should be fun, not frantic.
Guided, not crowded.
Personal, not pushed.

So take a breath, slow your pace, and let the island welcome you —
sin prisa, con corazón.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to jump the cliffs?
Never. Nothing on this tour is required beyond the hike itself. Each cliff jump has different heights, and plenty of guests choose to cheer instead. Your guide will point out landing zones, help with footing, and celebrate whatever level of adventure feels good to you.

Can it rain?
It’s El Yunque. The rainforest loves a good shower. 🌧️ A little rain actually makes the experience even more magical and keeps the rock slides flowing. Tours run rain or shine unless conditions become unsafe (very rare). If safety becomes a concern, your guide will make the call and communicate adjustments.

Are beginners welcome?
Absolutely. Most guests have never done something like this before. Your guide will set a comfortable pace, coach you through each activity, and show safe footing on slippery terrain. You don’t need experience — just curiosity and a willingness to get a little muddy.

Can non-swimmers join?
Yes. Life vests are mandatory and provided, and your guide will support you the entire time. There are natural pools where you can stand, rest, and take breaks. We’ve guided plenty of first-timers. Confidence grows fast once you’re in the water.

Can I bring a camera or GoPro?
You can, but we highly recommend keeping valuables to a minimum. We capture photos and videos throughout the tour and send them directly to you afterward, so you can stay present, hands-free, and focused on enjoying the moment. If you do bring a device, make sure it’s waterproof and secure.

What if I have mobility concerns or recent injuries?

Terrain can include mud, slippery rocks, natural pools, and short climbs. If you’ve had recent surgeries, active injuries, or mobility limitations, this may not be the right tour, but we offer experiences designed for every body and pace. Just reach out and we’ll point you to your perfect fit.

Will there be a place to rinse off or change afterward?

Yes. We provide a hose to rinse off your shoes and a private area where you can change into dry clothes before heading home. It makes the ride back way more comfortable.

Is transportation included?

Transportation is optional. You can add pickup/dropoff when booking, or meet us at the meeting point if you prefer. We make both easy. max of 14 when transportation is provided, not every one has to ride together – we can split groups, have a more intimate experience which is why keep it at 14, groups occasionally will exceed 14 – contact us for larger groups. we also do private tours, total amount coming in the group can be more than 14, but our personal transportation is max 14…

What’s your cancellation policy?

Due to high demand and limited group sizes, we maintain a firm 48-hour cancellation policy for all tours.

  • No refunds for late arrivals, same-day cancellations, or no-shows.

  • We prepare vehicles, guides, and permits ahead of time — your spot matters.

If weather creates unsafe conditions and we cancel, you’ll be offered a reschedule or full refund. Safety always comes first.
