Discover the natural beauty of Puerto Rico on our Chasing Waterfalls adventure, a short but exhilarating tour that takes you to a breathtaking 180-foot-tall waterfall. Just a 30-minute drive from San Juan, this excursion offers a perfect blend of adventure and accessibility. While the tour is relatively short, we recommend that participants be physically active and capable of light rock scrambling and walking on rocks.

Itinerary

The group will be meeting at 8:00 a.m. at a local bakery for coffee (Pickup and dropoff to hotel or airbnb included in transportation add-on)

We will begin our 45-minute scenic drive to the trail entrance, with scenic views overlooking San Juan and surrounding metro area.

Brief safety meeting before beginning our hike (handing out life vests, changing shoes, etc.)

Light hike on a well-maintained/marked trail, proceeding upriver, progressively increasing in difficulty for about 30 min with quick rest stops along the way at several pools/smaller waterfalls, flora, fauna, history of the surrounding city and La Isla del Encanto. Photos and videos will be taken throughout your journey. Reaching the climax of the tour, the 60m (180ft.) waterfall, we will enjoy some freshly cut seasonal fruit in front of the waterfall.

After sharing some time to swim and take pics, we will hike back to our vehicles

What to Bring
  • Comfortable to hike that may get wet/muddy (no Birkenstocks, slides or flip flops)
  • Hiking attire that can get wet/muddy(swimming suits are optional, please have one underneath your hiking clothes if you’d like to swim)
  • Towel 
  • Comfortable change of clothes(mandatory if riding in our vehicles)
  • Unnecessary items/baggage will be safe/locked in the vehicle
Skill Level and Participation
  • We understand your desire to see the rainforest; however, this tour is catered to individuals who are regularly active and are eager to engage their bodies throughout their day (hiking, swimming, and light climbing are all included). Rainforest terrain may include muddy, slippery, uneven surfaces, natural pools, light rock-climbing, and steep inclines.
  • It is YOUR responsibility to communicate to your tour guide any health issues and/or physical limitations(i.e., Injuries, recent surgeries) you may face.
  • ANY guests who regularly face difficulty with severe breathing complications, epilepsy, and heart conditions are NOT allowed to engage in this excursion.
  • We have tours catered to everyone! If these sound like some issues you deal with, consider booking one of our less strenuous tours!

Due to the high demand for our tour spaces, we maintain a FIRM 48-hour cancellation policy for ALL tours.

We prepare our vehicles, tour guides, and schedules ahead of time and accordingly.
